What better way to compare the various nose types and shapes than to look at the famous people around us. The ones we rely on day in day out for the latest fashion, hottest looks and newest styles. When we look at celebrities' faces do we even notice the shape of their nose or whether it complements or is in harmony with their other facial features? Generally we notice the whole package, but it's those little aspects that make the whole thing perfect.

Many stars have subjected themselves to rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, to complete that overall image. Here are some personalities' different types of noses and their plastic surgery outcomes:

• Salma Hayek - it would appear this gorgeous Mexican American actress has had her wider nostrils narrowed. Being born in Mexico, this Hispanic beauty was gifted with a broader bridge and somewhat bulbous tip. Rhinoplasty has made the tip of her nose more defined with an overall slimmer look.

• Ashlee Simpson-Wentz (Ashlee Simpson) - her rather rounded protruding dorsum and drooping tip - gone! After going under the knife, Ashlee's nose is now petite and cuter than ever, looking like the typical Caucasian nose.

• Halle Berry - has had her rounded tip refined.
• Lil Kim - has narrowed the bridge of her nose.
• Britney Spears - her plastic surgeon carefully and elegantly reduced the size of her nose, but keeping the same shape just to keep people guessing. Did she or didn't she? Her surgeon did a great job.
• Fergie - undergoing rhinoplasty has done wonders for this female artist. Her overly wide nose has been narrowed by cutting the nasal bones, giving her that slender gracious appearance.
• Tori Spelling - underwent surgery to narrow her rather flared nostrils. The operation was successful but her nose job still looks a little awkward.

The different types of noses among males also vary depending on their origin. For example, being born in the United Kingdom, Ozzy Ozborne had a larger Caucasian type of nose. He has undergone plastic surgery to give the tip more definition and texture. Michael Jackson, being of African American descent, was faced with a manifestly platyrrhine nose being very broad and flat. As we all know, Jackson has subjected himself to many operations to achieve that narrower Caucasian look.

Regardless of their or origin or descent, the different types of noses will always be unique to the person and can only really be defined by their characteristics. Whether they have a wide bridge, flared nostrils, columellar retraction, bulbous tip or nasal bump these qualities can always be reshaped by a good plastic surgeon.
